While this is not an original idea, I wanted to put my little creations on my blog! I’ve been buying more and more bulk items to save on weekly groceries, and to help keep my new diet in line. It’s also a great little DIY to do with little ones for their bedroom, or general organization. All together it was under $20 for the jars, ribbon, pen, and labels! So, all in all it was really worth it, and I’m tired of looking at blobby bags of bulk food floating around my cupboards.
For this little project you will need the following:
Chalkboard labels (or whatever labels you want to use)
Chalk pen (if using the labels)
Mason Jar with a flat, clean side
Ribbon for decoration (optional)
It’s not a super complicated process, but basically make sure that the flat side of the jar is clean and dry before plopping your label on and get on decorating! I found these chalkboard labels for $3 at Michaels Craft store, the jars were on sale for $2.50 and the ribbon was about $0.50. The pen was probably the most expensive one at about $5.
I added the ribbon because I’m cute. You could also add little tags with cooking instructions, or serving information if you’re sharing the bulk items. I wanted them to look cute on a little shelf in my room, so I chose this pretty peach color.
Have fun with the labels and picking out what items you want to put in the jars! In a childish sort of way, it’s helped me stay on track with my diet because I enjoy filling up my jars each week. It’s the little things in life.
